Neuromuscular ultrasound has become an important part of the diagnostic workup of peripheral neuromuscular disorders including entrapment neuropathies, traumatic peripheral nerve injuries, polyneuropathies, myopathies, and other disorders. The structural information obtained via ultrasound allows for thorough patient assessment and may even alter diagnoses and impact patient management. The integration of neuromuscular ultrasound in all EMG labs is currently recommended for efficient clinical practice.
