Participants at this workshop will learn the fundamentals of performing a basic nerve conduction study by combining lectures and abundant hands-on practicums with the EMG/NCV machine in small groups. Topics include the basics of NCS/EMG, instrumentation, troubleshooting, upper and lower extremities, F-Waves, H-Reflexes in late responses, entrapment neuropathies, the peripheral nervous system and it’s diseases, and more. Introductory lectures on Ultrasound scanning of the median and ulnar nerves have been added for this event. The course runs from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM both days. Continental breakfast, breaks and lunch are included both days.
Registration includes a NCV electrode pack, lecture handouts on USB drive. The reference manual “Performing Motor and Sensory Neural Conduction Studies in Adult Humans” is provided to participants in digital format via web link upon registration along with the schedule and hotel reservation information. A digital certificate of attendance will be sent by email after the course.
This course is suitable for new neurodiagnostic technologists and anyone who might need a refresher on NCS/EMG/NMUS.
CEU information: AAET CEUs are pending approval. ASET CEUs are pending approval. For ASET CEUs you must have an ASET ID number.

Cadwell reserves the right to cancel the course within 14 calendar days of the start date. In the unlikely event that a course is cancelled, 100% of the tuition will be refunded. Participant cancellations made more than 14 calendar days before the course receive a tuition refund minus a 20% administrative fee. The nature of the “interactive” aspect of the course from an equipment and instructional standpoint dictates that an optimal number of participants be maintained. Therefore participant cancellations made less than 14 days before the course start date, including no-shows, will result in the tuition being non-refundable and non-transferrable to a future date.
