Hands-On Introduction to EEG Workshop

Build fundamental skills in performing EEG procedures and join Cadwell for a two-day, Hands-On Introduction to EEG Workshop in Houston, Texas. As part of Cadwell’s commitment to investing in the education of those driving neurology care forward, CadCare course participants will engage in a series of lectures and hands-on sessions in small groups to reinforce critical skills in EEG.

Course topics include Seizures and Seizure Classification; Normal EEG, Sleep, and Ambulatory Considerations; EEG Artifact Identification and Troubleshooting; Activation Procedures; Montages, Localization, and Polarity; Normal Variants; Recording a Routine EEG; and Hands-On 10-20 Head Measurement and Electrode Application.

By participating in this workshop, you will have opportunities to engage with expert CadCare instructors alongside other professionals, while gaining the following skills:

  • Learn to accurately mark and measure EEG waveforms
  • Master techniques for identifying and troubleshooting EEG artifacts
  • Develop skills in localizing and determining the polarity of EEG activity
  • Gain proficiency in performing activation procedures
  • Build your knowledge in classifying different types of seizures
  • Identify and understand normal EEG variants
  • Accurately follow ACNS guidelines for head measurement and electrode placement using the 10-20 System for electrode application

Participants will also have the option to participate in an ABRET EEG Pathway III and IV Measurement Assessment.

Lecture handouts will be provided on a USB drive, and lunch will be provided on both days. After completing the course, all participants will take home a disposable electrode kit and mannequin head to continue their learnings at home. Participants will also receive a digital certificate of attendance via email following completion of the workshop.

15.5 ASET CEUs have been applied for and are pending approval. To receive CEUs, you must have an ASET ID number, and you must attend both days of the Introduction to EEG Workshop to receive all available CEUs.

The course registration fee must be paid in advance to guarantee your space. We will provide written confirmation, the course schedule, and hotel reservation instructions to the email address you provided.

Airline Reservations

Participants are responsible for their own airline reservations. Please do not make non-refundable airline reservations. Cadwell is not responsible for the refund of travel or hotel expenses under any circumstances.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cadwell reserves the right to cancel the course within 14 calendar days of the start date. In the unlikely event that a course is canceled, 100% of the course registration will be refunded. Participant cancellations made more than 14 calendar days before the course receive a course registration refund minus a 20% administrative fee. The nature of the “interactive” aspect of the course from an equipment and instructional standpoint dictates that an optimal number of participants be maintained. Therefore, participant cancellations made less than 14 days before the course start date, including no-shows, will result in the course registration being non-refundable and non-transferrable to a future date.
